group work

one of the principle philosophies behind my teaching is collaboration and group work. Digital media, especially lower down the school, really facilitates group work.

science and art teaching -
You can sort of get your head around what physics or maths is - in relation to school that is, even perhaps if you can't - you can grasp the building blocks, the concept - with art perhaps, it is more difficult - if art were producing paintings, to hand on walls - or drawings, that looked like something - if it were to acquire these skills, then perhaps, - but the art world of the last 50 years has mostly not been that - it has been an art of ideas - very difficult for art teachers to define and know, let alone students - but if we are truly teaching art, and not painting, drawing, or potting - then this is what we need to be getting to the essence of - the indefinable that is contemporary art - and how and why art got here.
